Welcome, Kindred Spirit.

Let us walk the Wheel of the Year

Without a true understanding of where we come from, we cannot make sense of where we are. The deep longing in you to move with the flow of the seasons and the suntides is as natural as breathing. You are not alone, and you are welcome here.

History

To more fully connect with the Wheel of the Year, it is important to understand the historical context of what our Neolithic and agrarian ancestors celebrated and why.

Folklore

The varied folk customs linked to each festival and time of year provide a glimpse into the psyches and societies of the past that have informed our present culture... and you.

My Story is Your Story

I can remember the moment I realized I had made the same mistake as thousands before me by viewing the past as if it were a distant landscape and myself as a still spectator upon a hill, gazing out at fuzzy shapes, struggling to make sense of obscure shadows. As if I were outside of it all. I could not have been more wrong.

Time is like a river and we are but a floating leaf. What has come before not only affects who we are but is an integral part of our very beings. Our bones tell the stories of mammoth hunts, our fingers that of delicately planted seeds, and our skin tattoos with the songs of the sun.

Kellie (K.M.) Rice

Kindred spirit, I too feel the yearning in my blood for my pulse to match that of the earth's, honoring our indigenous connection to the land. Allow me to share with you what I have learned on my own journey to uncover the roots of our cultural family tree. By deepening our connection to the cycles of nature, we more clearly understand ourselves.

This is your birthright

We have been taught to distance ourselves from this ancient knowledge in favor of consumerism, urban living, and a growing dependency on digital technology. Yet through the madness of the modern, we instinctively know we are made of starlight and are as much a part of nature as the rain-spotted fur on a hare's back.

The time has come to reclaim your birthright as a one wrought for the wild.

Welcome to all

While the inspiration for the Wheel of the Year is sacred to Wiccans and neo-pagans, it is open to all. The festivals it represents are symbolic gateways to learning more about the documented customs and beliefs of agrarian European cultures.

The past is present. We carry the wisdom of the beforefolk, or ancestors, in our blood. We have only to listen.

Part history, part folklore, and entirely composed of the ancient magic of nature found within as it is without. "
